GreenPoint Rated: Advisor and Rater Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a GreenPoint Rated Rater or Advisor.  Your eligibility for GreenPoint Rated certification will be determined on the basis of the information gathered in this form.  Please see GreenPoint Rated Eligibility Requirements (opens in a new window) to determine in advance if you qualify for your preferred certification.

If you choose the petition option, in addition to filling out this form, you will need to follow the instructions given at the end of this form for submitting attachments.

All Build It Green courses are open for educational purposes even if the individual does not qualify for certification. If you would like to pursue training without certification, please email training@builditgreen.org

Petition Option for Those Who Do Not Meet Standard Eligibility Requirements

Should I submit a petition?*
* If you do not meet standard eligibility requirements, but have at least four (4) years' mastery level experience in new home construction or existing home retrofit and remodel, you may submit a petition to Build It Green to be considered for GreenPoint Rated certification.

The petition must include:
  • A copy of your resume, including relevant experience
  • A letter describing how your experience pertains to the training for which you are applying
  • A letter from a current or former colleague attesting to your work
  • For petitions covering Building Performance Experience: a certificate for other home performance training including duct testing and envelope evaluation
