Topic: 2013 Energy Code Update & Energy Modeling

Description: The new 2013 California Energy Code takes effect January 1, 2014. We’ll talk about the code update process, key changes and additions as compared to the current energy code; how this affects builders, designers, contractors, and Raters; and we’ll give a brief explanation of reach codes and where we are in relation to California Energy Commissions long term goals.

Nathan Krantz - Director of Technical Services and Education, Build It Green

As Director of Technical Services and Education, Mr. Krantz supports the development, expansion and management of Build It Green’s GreenPoint Rated program and professional training department.

Mr. Krantz is a licensed architect, certified commissioning authority, certified energy plans examiner, and green building consultant with more than 10 years of experience in commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. Prior to joining Build It Green, Mr. Krantz served as a green building consultant where he assisted builders, architects, and property managers with LEED® and GreenPoint Rated certification, CALGreen code, and green building education. Sean Feurtado has been an AutoCAD designer for commercial engineers, architects, and design build construction companies in California. With experience in energy modeling and energy compliance he has been involved in helping make homes more energy efficient.
