Topic: Advanced Ventilation

Description: 
Judy Roberson, a ventilation consultant at PG&E's Energy Training Center, will lead a panel discussion exploring some of the more advanced topics in home ventilation, including natural ventilation, heat recovery ventilation, and night cooling ventilation.

Panelists include Alan Gilliland of One Sky Homes, Dan Johnson of Integral Impact, and George Nesbitt of Environmental Design / Build.

Cancellation Policy:  No refunds will be given for cancellations or no-shows due to our limited venue capacity. Registered attendees can transfer their credit to another colleague (i.e. go in their place) for the same Guild Meeting - not for another Guild Meeting.

Biography

 

 

Judy Roberson, PG&E Energy Training Center
Judy Roberson is a residential building scientist and ventilation consultant at PG&E's Energy Training Center in Stockton. She earned a M.S. in Architecture from UC Berkeley with a thesis on ASHRAE's residential ventilation Standard 62.2. While a Research Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), she supported Energy Star energy efficiency programs, including new and existing homes. Judy learned building design and construction in Wisconsin, where she worked as an apprentice carpenter on multifamily housing projects, architectural drafter for a residential design-build firm, and apprentice architect on passive solar residential and small commercial projects. She has B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas A&M University.

 

Alan Gilliland, One Sky Homes

 

Dan Johnson, Integral Impact
Dan Johnson designs and implements building systems to improve comfort, save energy, and increase our connection to nature. He is a certified Passive House Consultant, and a senior consultant at i3.

Before joining i3, he held a senior design and project management position at Arkin Tilt Architects. He gained experience with the Department of the State Architect (DSA) and led high-performance building projects achieving LEED for Schools, LEED for Homes, and Passive House certifications, as well as several awards and publications. He received his Master of Architecture degree from the College of Built Environments at the University of Washington in Seattle.

 

 George Nesbitt, Environmental Design / Build
George Nesbitt has been spent the past 25 years learning about and practicing a wide range of building of trades, building materials & methods, processes & issues. He has spent the past 11 years focused on building energy and tought himself to design, install & commission HVAC. He has studied Ventilation & indoor air quality for 20 plus years.
