	The Green Affordable Housing Coalition presents CALGreen Building Code And the Multi Family Project
A joint project of Build It Green and the Bay Area Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the Green Affordable Housing Coalition, or GAHC, provides green building education, outreach, and policy advocacy to the Bay Area’s affordable housing industry. The GAHC’s ultimate goal is to improve the lives of low-income families in the San Francisco Bay Area by increasing the supply of healthy and energy efficient affordable housing.	This Building Code is changing the way California designs, builds, and operates buildings. Are you prepared to implement the new requirements as they roll out over the next several years? The first phase of CALGreen’s rigorous new building code came into effect in January 2011, and subsequent phases have, and will become mandatory through 2014. This Code requires all new buildings in the state to be more energy efficient and environmentally responsible. And, it applies to all new building design, construction, and retrofits. Understanding how CALGreen building code will affect any multifamily project now and in the future is important for all developers, architects, project managers, operations staff, and those who work with them. Join us for lunch and an informative presentation on CALGreen Building Code and how its upcoming changes will affect your planning, projects, and operations now, through 2014, and beyond.

Biography

Nathan Krantz is the Director of Technical Services at Build It Green, and is a leader in the green building community with over 10 years of experience managing and educating builders, professionals, and the public on green building codes and polices, sustainable design, commissioning, and energy efficiency.

Nathan has managed numerous existing and new construction GPR, LEED, and Energy Star buildings totaling over 1 million square feet of commercial space and over 6,000 residential units. He is a licensed architect and certified commissioning authority, and holds several other certifications pertinent to the growing and expanding green building/building performance industry.
