Making Money Selling Green Homes

This 4-hour course is based on modern green building principles and taught by experts in the green building, home performance, and real estate fields.  You’ll learn about the value of green home remodeling and retrofitting, home energy performance, energy assessments and upgrades, improved indoor air quality, water conservation, resource conservation and more.

Topics covered in this class:

• Current business opportunities for real estate professionals

• Market demand, regulatory changes, and state initiatives surrounding green homes and GreenPoint Rated

• Credible standards, the Whole House approach, HERS II, and other green certifications

• Criteria for a green home and how to avoid greenwashing

• State and federal energy efficiency rebate programs like Energy Upgrade California, mortgage options, state disclosure regulations and lending programs (203K, Energy Efficiency Mortgages)

• Marketing tools and resources
