Donor Relations Volunteer

Are you interested in event planning? Fundraising and development? Getting exposure to nonprofits and the environmental field?

If so, Build It Green is seeking a Donor Relations Volunteer and this may be the right opportunity for you! The Donor Relations Volunteer would be instrumental in the research, outreach and solicitation of donated beverages and silent auction items, as well as overall event planning and execution of our annual year-end event, the BIG Bash.

Responsibilities of the Donor Relations Volunteer include:

Draft solicitation letters and lead outreach to potential donors

Coordinate receipt of donations

Draft and provide letters of acknowledgement and receipts to all donors

Support the planning of the silent auction and The BIG Bash

Time Commitment:
Ongoing, and will vary between now and the day of the event (tentatively scheduled for 12/5/2013). Volunteer could expect to spend up to 8 hours/week in the Oakland office during peak event planning times. Times are flexible M-F, between 9am-5pm.

We are looking for a volunteer to begin no later than April 30th.

This rating system is for designing and building brand new homes. It's usually used by architects, builders, developers, and property managers who work with a third-party GreenPoint Rater. Homebuyers or renters can differentiate between green homes and conventional homes by looking for homes that have earned the New Home label. A GreenPoint Rated home must meet certain pre-requisites, earn a minimum point requirement in each of the five environmental categories, and score at least 50 total points. Joshua Brock Joshua Brock has a broad range of experience in the fields of energy, sustainability and climate change. Presently Josh works for San Diego Gas & Electric as a Program Advisor in the Local Government Partnerships Program where he works with public agencies across SDG&E's service territory to implement energy efficiency programs. Prior to joining SDG&E, Josh worked in the Energy, Sustainability and Environmental Protection Division of the City of San Diego's Environmental Services Department where he was responsible for a range of sustainability issues including energy efficiency, renewable energy, clean transportation, climate change, and building policy. Recertification Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Overview CEUs are typically granted as 1 unit for every 1 hour of instruction. All recertification applicants are required to earn 16 CEUs within each 2 year certification cycle. Units earned outside this period do not count towards recertification. CEUs are only awarded for advanced green building trainings, beyond introductory or basic building education. Webinars and online courses will be evaluated for credit value on a case-by-case basis. CEUs can only be applied to each course once in each recertification cycle; repeating a course will not add to the CEU total.
