A professional who has successfully completed the introductory, residential green building certification training on the principles of green building and the systems approach to the design, construction and operation of residential buildings. The course includes topics such as energy efficiency, resource conservation, water conservation, and indoor air quality.
A real estate professional who has successfully completed the Certified Green Real Estate Professional training on state disclosure regulations, consumer label programs, and green lending programs, including 203K and Energy Efficient Mortgages. The course includes topics such as the value of a green home, energy assessments, and how to identify green home features.
A GreenPoint Rater is certified to rate homes. They perform all steps of the rating process, including helping the project team decide which points to achieve, verifying each green measure, and submitting the application and supporting documentation to Build It Green. Only Raters can submit verified projects for a Certificate of Evaluation.
A GreenPoint Advisor understands the system and can provide consulting. A GreenPoint Advisor, while not certified to rate a home, is qualified to help homeowners, builders, and design teams achieve a GreenPoint Rating. An advisor has detailed knowledge of GreenPoint measures and verification methods.
A person who verifies and submits an existing home project for a GreenPoint Rated certification.
A person who designs, builds or advises on a GreenPoint Rated existing home project. As an advisor they are ineligible to verify and submit that project for certification.
A person who verifies and submits an existing home multi-family project for a GreenPoint Rated certification.
A person verifies and submits an existing home project for a GreenPoint Rated Elements certification under the GreenPoint Rated Home Performance Rating System.
A person who designs, builds or advises on a GreenPoint Rated new home project. As an advisor they are ineligible to verify and submit that project for certification.
A person who verifies and submits a new home project for a GreenPoint Rated certification.
