Marc Richmond has worked in the construction industry for more than 20 years as a builder and a green building consultant. He has significant experience in developing green building programs for government agencies, nonprofits and private firms.

Marc serves on the Board of Advisors for Healthy Home Designs and the West Coast Green conference, and is past chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED-Residential Steering Committee

  • Participants must attend both training days.
  • Participants must receive a passing grade of 80% on the final exam (open-book at the end of day 2). If you do not receive a passing grade, you may re-take the exam for a fee of $50.

Course Detail

Day One

Energy
Understand the essentials of conservation, efficiency, and renewable energy as they apply to framing, insulation, windows, water heating, appliances, heating/cooling and lighting.

Resource Conservation
Explore best practices in jobsite waste/recycling, landscaping, water conservation, efficient framing, durability, and material choices.

Day Two

Indoor Air Quality
Learn about design choices that can improve indoor air quality, including low VOC products, finish materials, ventilation, filtration, mold prevention and best construction practices.

Developing and Marketing a Green Business
Learn how consumer preferences, marketing tools, and effective language can play a role in developing and marketing a green business.
